Shopfront Design & Installation in Pakistan

A shopper decides whether to walk into your store in under three seconds. They make that call from the pavement, before they have seen a single product inside.

That is the part most shop owners in Pakistan get backwards. They will spend lakhs on stock, staff, and interior fittings, then leave the one surface every passerby sees looking the same as it did five years ago.

A well-built shopfront does more than look good. It tells the street your business is active and worth walking into. This page covers what goes into shopfront design and installation in Pakistan: the material choices, what they cost, how long installation takes, and whether your shop has to shut its doors while it happens.

No fluff. Just what you need before you call a contractor.

Modern Retail Shopfront Pakistan

Why Your Shopfront Matters More Than You Think

Retail is often won or lost at the entrance, before a customer even reaches the till. A dated, dim, or damaged shopfront does not just look tired. It signals a tired business, even when the stock behind the glass is fresh and the prices are fair.

First Impressions Happen Before the Door Opens

Across the shops we have fitted, from single-counter mobile stores to multi-floor showrooms, the pattern repeats. A clean, well-lit, modern front pulls in walk-in customers that a faded signboard never will. Your interior could be perfect. None of it matters if the street never sees a reason to step inside.

Choosing the Right Shopfront Material

There is no single best shopfront material. The right one depends on your budget, your brand, and how much glass you want facing the street. Three options cover almost every shop in Pakistan.

Aluminium-Framed Glass

The standard choice for retail shops, salons, and showrooms. Powder-coated aluminium profiles hold large glass panels, giving full visibility and security for locks and shutters. Best for clothing, mobile shops, and pharmacies.

ACP Cladding

Aluminium Composite Panel cladding wraps the front in smooth, painted metal. Paired with signage, it is budget-friendly and fast to install. Bold colours suit restaurants and brand-led retail where signage matters most.

Frameless Structural Glass

The premium tier seen in DHA and Gulberg flagship stores. Large glass panels held by structural silicone or minimal channels with no visible frames. Requires 10mm to 12mm toughened glass to resist wind flex.

How Shopfront Installation Actually Works

Site Survey and Design

A contractor measures the frontage and checks the structural opening. This is where signage, lighting, and door swing direction get decided. Change these after fabrication starts and you will pay for it twice.

Fabrication Timeline

Profiles get powder-coated, glass gets toughened, and ACP gets routed off-site while your shop stays open. This usually takes three to five days.

Installation Day: What to Expect

The old shopfront comes down and the new one goes up, usually within a single working day for standard widths (12–15 feet). Most installers sequence work so the shop reopens the same evening or the next morning. Closing for a full week is not standard.

Built to Survive Pakistan’s Climate

A shopfront in Lahore’s summer heat and a shopfront in Karachi’s coastal humidity are not solving the same problem. A vague “durable” label does not tell you which one survives which climate.

Heat, UV, and Colour Fade

Standard powder-coated aluminium can chalk and fade under direct sun if not UV-stabilised. Ask directly whether the powder coat is rated for exterior use. Interior-grade coating costs less, and some suppliers will not volunteer that difference.

Dust, Monsoon, and Coastal Humidity

Toughened glass and ACP handle rain well. The weak point is the sealant. A poorly sealed joint lets water in during monsoon season and lets dust grind against the glass, scratching it long before the glass itself would fail.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends mainly on material and frontage width. ACP cladding is the most budget-friendly option, aluminium-framed glass sits in the mid-range, and frameless structural glass costs the most due to glass thickness and fixing hardware.
Neither one is always better. It depends on what the shop sells. Glass wins when customers need to see the product (clothing/mobile shops). ACP wins when branding, colour, and signage matter more than visibility (restaurants/salons).
Fabrication off-site usually takes three to five working days, and the on-site installation itself is typically completed in a single day for a standard shop frontage. Larger or more complex frontages can take two to three days on-site.
The shop trades normally during design and fabrication, since that work happens off-site. It cannot operate normally during the few hours or one day the actual frame swap happens, but a full week of closure is not standard.
Yes, when it is properly sealed and the panel grade suits exterior use. The panel itself handles heat and dust well. Failures almost always trace back to a poor seal at the joints rather than the ACP material itself.

The material chosen for a shopfront — glass, ACP, or a mix of both — should match how the shop sells, not just what looks good in a photo. Get that decision right, and the shopfront starts pulling in the walk-in customers the interior alone never could.
